Joy has decided not to get a puppy after all. She's taking care of her daughter's 2 year old Aussie, and has 2 more of her own, so her hands are full.
That brings us to #4, who is Tanya, and as I said, she'll be over soon.
The puppies love going outdoors. We took 3 of them on our walk last night--Mckenzie and I wore backpacks on our fronts and we carried Kirby and Nellie. Geoff tucked Josephine under his jacket. They got down and explored the woods a little, but were just astonished at everything going on around them. All the big dogs were running around playing. It's wondrous going out in the big woods.
Took Mom to look at the Rocky Mtn Village condos again, and made a bid on one. While the rest of the housing market sags, the senior set are clawing for space. We had to make the offer on the first glimpse of the place, because it's not even on the market and several people are bringing in friends or relatives to see it. Lordy! The screwiest things about the senior living situation are 1) everybody wants to know how old you are (they don't like being around a bunch of really old people), and 2) there's always hearsay about who's going to be ready to move on to assisted living, so condos are like popcorn popping.
Today I'm going to PetSmart and the Mills, all by myself, and then to Walmart to get more groceries. I'm going to put down food and clean papers, and then I am out of here!!! The puppies are adorable and brilliant and ever so playful, but I really need some mommy time--just me, myself and I. Wish I had the Mini already, so I could roar off in style. Instead, I've been slogging around in my pj's this morning--first to 3 Sisters to wait with McKenzie for her bus, then loading the pickup with the week's garbage, which actually fit (although towered) in the dumpster. I can hear the garbage truck right this minute. Hope they are good at balancing acts.
So, time to change into jeans, go for a walk, and get on with this gorgeous day!!!
P.S. Did I tell you (because the internet was down for an eternity this weekend) that Kim chose Izzy? Happy days! She managed to let me know just before the hurricane moved into Houston early Saturday morning. Jaycee and James are going to love that puppy too. She's so smart and beautiful and playful. Great choice for Kim, who's always taking in homeless dogs at the pipe yard, or off the street. She deserves one especially made for her!
